NIGHT CLUB AT IPPR REPORT LAUNCH
night club at ippr report launch
Our founder Sarah Douglas was invited to speak alongside Wes Streeting MP and Lord Darzi at the launch event for the final report of the IPPR Commission on Health and Prosperity, about the importance of placing people at the centre of a health-led economy – reframing how health is integrated into society by connecting with people where they are, on the issues they care about.
Sarah’s talk focused on our Night Club programme as it’s a model of what healthcare integrated into our work, community and daily lives could look like. As the IPPR Commission said, we are one of the “green shoots” showing that a health-led economy is possible and indeed already visible.
Night Club provides holistic support to employees by bringing sleep experts directly to workers on shift, at night. It’s providing healthcare outside of traditional clinical settings. This is particularly important because we know that many shift workers struggle to access health checks, training and support because these often only take place during the day.
And by providing an informal setting during working hours where employees can come to let off steam, have a chat and connect with colleagues, the Night Club intervention is putting people at the heart of the issue – we take the time to get to know shift workers and find out how we can best support them based on their current challenges.
