FOLLOWING OUR WAKE UP CALL WEBINAR

Over 180 participants joined us for Wake Up Call, our live webinar in partnership with Make A Difference (MAD), to find out how best to support the health and wellbeing of their night workers.

The event was chaired by Claire Farrow from MAD, and our Co-Head of Programme Ella Reynolds was joined by two guest speakers from employers who have placed a major focus on supporting their shift workers – Britvic and Transport for London.

Ella kicked off the webinar by sharing info about the Night Club programme, research highlights on the impacts of shift work and the many benefits of good sleep – for health, memory, positivity and problem-solving.

Then Britvic’s EDI and Wellbeing Manager Sarah Munday shared the story of how Britvic came to engage Night Club’s services after identifying a particular need to support their shift workers. She also spoke about the communications and engagement efforts the soft drinks company has been making recently to maximise the impact of this sleep support.

And Chris Jones, TfL’s Safety Strategy Manager, talked participants through the design of TfL’s ‘fatigue programme’ and the specific role Night Club has played in helping to access staff who have proved hard to reach with traditional wellbeing interventions, and the positive impact their engagement has had on TfL’s culture.

A wide-ranging and lively discussion and Q&A followed, with many tips being shared by guests speakers and participants alike about the small changes employers can make to support night workers – from light bulbs and eye protection to vending and catering options.
